The ICARUS Advisory Group
The ICARUS Advisory Group was established after careful consideration and at this point in time comprises buyers, academics and consultants only. Suppliers are linked to the project through a sub-committee called the ICARUS Supplier Committee.
ITM has purposefully kept suppliers at arms length to ensure that its actions are not influenced by environmental marketing messages, or "Green wash" as it is commonly referred to.
The ICARUS Advisory Group presently consists of the following volunteers:
| Mark Avery | Project ICARUS Chairman (Head of Business Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers) |
| Paul Tilstone | Chief Executive, ITM |
| Alan Ryan | BP |
| Jamie Barker | Barclays |
| Jon Green | JMP Consultants Limited |
| Dr Keith Mason | Cranfield University |
| Dr John Kohler | Cambridge University |
| Tim Johnson | Aviation Environment Federation |
| Bernard Harrop | IG Management |
| Jean Leston | WWF-UK |
The ICARUS Supplier Committee presently consists of invitees from those who have previously won the ICARUS Environmental Supplier Awards, and includes those from 2007/8 at present:
| Hugo Kinber | Carbon Consultancy |
| James Wright | Virgin Trains |
| Nigel Turner | Carlson Wagonlit Travel |
Both groups meet each quarter to provide strategic direction to the project.
In addition to these groups, ITM is establishing an ICARUS International Committee to advise on international content and variation we can include. International or national associations who have subscribed to ITM through agreement will join the Danish Business Travel Association (DBTA), the Institute of Travel Management Southern Africa (ITMSA) and ITM in this committee.
