What is Project ICARUS?
Project ICARUS started in 2006 and has grown to be the most widely recognised and respected corporate sustainability programme within the travel and meeting industry.
The project is led by, and targeted primarily at national and international travel buyers/managers.
Originally established by ITM to promote carbon reduction in travel management programmes, it has since been widened to cover all aspects of sustainability throughout the business travel and meetings industry.
ICARUS works in partnership with buyers, suppliers, and leading institutions: in particular the Airline Environmental Federation, Cambridge University, Cranfield University and WWF-UK.
ICARUS is now available to all members of the buyer-led network GBTA Europe, created through the co-operation of GBTA, ITM and other European partner associations.
